San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich has had to shuffle the lineup through several injuries this season and he makes another lineup change tonight.
In his pre-game interview, Popovich said guard Manu Ginobili will be starting tonight, and he will likely continue to start.
With the news of T.J. Ford’s retirement, the Spurs are also relying on Gary Neal to be Tony Parker’s primary backup point guard so expect to see more of him leading the second unit tonight.
Having the big three back in the starting lineup is something Spurs fans will be happy about, but it also poses a bug challenge to coach Randy Wittman and his young Wizards team.
“This is a veteran group that’s been through the wars. They’ve done and seen everything that can possibly be thrown at them, so you just have to play a solid game,” Wittman said. “That’s paramount for us to have a chance to win the game. From a mental standpoint, we can’t have a lot of lapses because this team will jump on that.”
