Representing France is emotional experience for Parker

As the 2012 London Olympic Games get set to begin this Friday, one of numerous San Antonio SpursTP player will cherish the moment proudly as he prepares to take part in playing for and representing his country.

That player is French All-Star guard Tony Parker, who said he was very emotional last year after France earned its Olympic qualification in the 2011 Eurobasket via AllMediaNY.com.

“It’s been a long time that I’ve waited for this. I had tears in my eyes,” said Parker said after Spain defeated Russia to advance to the EuroBasket finals and qualify for the London Olympics.

Though Parker will be relishing the moment of representing his country, placing for a medal will be a difficult task for France as there are some top tier teams in this years games which include defending Gold Medalists the United States of America, Europe’s other distinct basketball country, Spain, along with the South American countries of Argentina and Brazil, and the country out in the ocean, Australia.

Though France has five NBA players on their squad which include Parker, Boris Diaw, Nicolas Batum, Ronny Turiaf, and soon-to-be rookie Nando De Colo, they’ll have a tough task ahead to medal as they will be missing some key players like Joakim Noah, Rodrigue Beaubois, and Ian Mahinmi.

Nevertheless, other countries are also dealing with some missing players and injuries, but in the end, Parker will be most excited to be there, trying to medal, but also being apart of the history of France.
