Men’s Ice Hockey

12/28  & 12/29 – The Buckeyes fell to the No. 5 Miami Redhawks by a score of 1-0 at the Three Rivers Classic on 12/28. OSU goalie Brady Hjelle had 25 saves in the game as the Buckeyes were shut out for the first time all season. Despite out-shooting Miami 29-26, the Buckeyes could not find a way to tie Curtiz McKenzie’s third period goal for the Redhawks. After the loss, the Buckeyes faced Penn State the next day (12/29) and fell 5-4. Sophomore Ryan Dzingel had his first hat trick for the Buckeyes in the loss, and goalie Collin Olson had 32 saves for OSU.

Wrestling

1/4 – The No. 4 Buckeyes dropped a 22-9 decision to the No. 5 Iowa Hawkeyes at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Hunter Stieber, Cam Tessari, and Peter Capone led Ohio State with wins at 141, 149, & heavyweight respectively.  Of the seven matches the Buckeyes lost, four of them were by four points or fewer. Ohio State will return to conference action on Sunday (1/6) at 3 pm against No. 15 Northwestern in Evanston.
