2013 NFL Mock Draft: Cleveland Browns

ohilm

The Cleveland Browns have needs on both sides of the football. One move that might get made is to trade down as the team does not have a second round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft and if no move happens then it’s certain that the selection is a cornerback.

Here’s a look at what the Browns will do.

First Round No.6Dee MillinerCBAlabama

It’s likely the Browns will overlook the recent surgeries performed on Milliner and take him with the sixth selection in the draft. In 2012 he recorded 54 tackles, two interceptions, four tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, 20 passes broken up, forced a fumble and recovered one. The season before he had three interceptions, 27 tackles, one tackle for loss and nine passes broken up.

Third Round No.68:  Terrance WilliamsWRBaylor

One consistent struggle over the past several seasons has been at wide receiver and this is where one will get taken. Williams had a tremendous 2012 season without Robert Griffin III throwing him the football. He caught 97 passes for 1,832 yards, averaged 18.9 yards per reception and caught 12 touchdown passes.

Those numbers obliterated his 2011 season in which he caught 59 passes for 967 yards, averaged 16.2 yards per reception and had 11 touchdown receptions.

Fourth Round No.104Kiko Alonso, ILBOregon

After taking Josh Gordon in the supplemental draft last season, Alonso will get his chance. He recorded 81 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, a sack, four interceptions, broke up three passes and forced two fumbles.

Fifth Round No.139Kwame GeathersDTGeorgia

The Browns didn’t play the run very well and Geathers adds depth at defensive tackle. In 2012 he recorded 40 tackles including five for loss, a sack and a blocked kick.

Fifth Round No.164:  Levine ToiloloTE, Stanford

Toilolo does need to become a better blocker and he will cause match-up nightmares on third down  and in the red zone as he stands 6’8″. Last season for Stanford he caught 24 passes for 343 yards and four touchdowns as a backup to Zach Ertz a likely first or second round pick in the draft. .

Sixth Round No.175Sheldon PriceCBUCLA

At 6’2″ Price is a tall for a cornerback and started all four years with the Bruins. One concern is that he does lack speed and athleticism. With the Bruins in 2012 he did come up with 37 tackles, five passes broken up four interceptions and blocked a kick.

Seventh Round No.227Sean Renfree, QB, Duke

If Brandon Weeden doesn’t pan out, Renfree might get the chance to take over the starting role for the Browns. He led Duke to a bowl game for the first time since 1994, which was the last time the Blue Devils won at least six games.

Renfree completed 67.3 percent of his passes, threw for 3,113 yards and 19 touchdowns to 10 interceptions.
