The Pittsburgh Penguins have finally made their first move Wednesday when they acquired Marcel Goc from the Florida Panthers in exchange for a 2014 3rd and 5th-round pick.
Goc has scored 11 goals and 23 points in 62 games this season with Florida. He was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the first round of the 2001 draft. With Ryan Kesler still on the block, this could be a sign that GM Ray Shero is preparing to make a deal for the Vancouver Canucks forward.
Meanwhile, the New Jersey Devils have acquired Tuomo Ruutu from the Carolina Hurricanes. Ruutu spent the last seven seasons with Carolina and is also a former first round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks.
