Director Sam Mendes took the stage at Pinewood Studios in London today to reveal some details about the 24th installment of the James Bond saga.
Mendes announced that EON Productions’ new Bond film will be titled SPECTRE, which is an acronym for the villainous organization known as Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion.
The story unfolds as a source out of Bond’s past sends him a cryptic message that starts him on a journey into the depths of the criminal organization known as SPECTRE. Meanwhile, M clashes political forces who wish to bring as end to their branch of Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Bond seeks to uncover the deceitful nature of SPECTRE as they threaten everything he has vowed to protect.
Daniel Craig is returning in his fourth stint as Britain’s most storied Secret Service agent and will be joined by Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny, Ben Whishaw as Q, and Rory Kinnear as Bill Tanner.
Variety reports that some exciting new additions to the cast that were announced which include: Cristoph Waltz as Oberhauser, Monica Bellucci as Lucia Sciarra, Lea Seydoux as Madeleine Swann, Dave Bautista as Mr. Hinx, and Andrew Scott as Denbigh.
James Bond will also be rolling in style in an Aston Martin DB10 that has been specially designed for use in the film.
Dr Andy Palmer, CEO of Aston Martin, said “to be partnering once again with EON Productions is great news for this company and for everyone around the world that loves to see Bond at the wheel of an Aston Martin”. Dr. Palmer also expressed that he is “incredibly proud of everyone in the team at Gaydon who have brought this special project from concept to reality.”
Bond has driven many models of Aston Martin over the years including the DBS, V8 Vantage Volante , V12 Vanquish, DBS V12, and of course the iconic DB5. In my opinion, aside from an Aston Martin, there is no other car James Bond should ever drive.
According to Variety, cameras are set to roll on Monday, and shooting for the film will take place over the next seven months. Filming will take place at Pinewood Studios as well as locations in London, Rome, Austria, Tangier, Morocco, Mexico City, Sölden, and Obertilliach.
The more I hear about this movie the more excited I am to see it. It’s going to be very tough to wait for SPECTRE to finally be released globally on Nov. 6th of 2015.
