HOUSTON – University of Connecticut redshirt senior linebacker Graham Stewart (Durham, Conn.) has been named to the Watch List for the 2015 Rotary Lombardi Award.
Eligibility for the Rotary Lombardi Award is limited to down linemen, end-to-end, either on offense or defense, who set up no farther than 10 yards to the left or right of the ball, or linebackers who set up no farther than five yards deep from the line of scrimmage.
Stewart started all 12 games at linebacker for the Huskies in 2014 and finished third on the team with 94 tackles and led the Huskies with 10.5 tackles for loss. He recorded a career-high with 12 tackles and a sack in a win over UCF.
In 2013, he played in eight games, starting the first two of the year at linebacker and finished with 14 tackles on the year.
Stewart played football at Xavier High School and was an all-state and All-Southern Connecticut Conference selection. His team won the Connecticut Class LL state championship with a 13-0 record and was first in final state rankings as a senior.
Stewart is a sociology major at UConn.
The 46th Rotary Lombardi Award will be held on December 9, 2015 at the Bayou Music Center in Houston, Texas.
