Bruins, Peverley Agree To Contract Extension

Don’t you just love Dick? Chiarelli knows how much you love Dick. The Garden knows how much you love Dick. Boston loves Dick. There’s not much you can’t say about Dick. Hard working. Loves to clean up the trash. Quick. Decent hands. Good ‘ole Dick. A girls best friend, if you will.

The Bruins have come to terms with a contract extension with Rich Peverley, who Days of Y’Orr will now call Dick Peverley now and forever. The extension is for another three years, but as of right now the terms of the contract are unknown. If they’re anything like his current contract ($1.325M this year) then it’s a bargain.

The Bruins acquired Peverley from Atlanipeg and sent them Blake Wheeler and Mark Stuart. I’ll be honest, I miss Stuey, but Peverley is a good hockey player. Between the two clubs, he scored 18 goals and had 23 assists, though his numbers in Boston weren’t huge. In fact, he’s already got two goals this season, which is half of what he scored in Boston through 23 games.

I’ve always said that Dick doesn’t belong on the second line and I stand by that, but I’m definitely willing to have my mind changed.

Maybe I just need a little more Dick in my life. Don’t we all?
