According to Haggs, Bruins Best Friend Matt Cooke won't be getting a phone call from Brendan Shanahan for his hit on Adam McQuaid. Not surprised. It was a garbage hit but didn't seem to fall into the realm of where the league would suspend someone — even if it is Matt Cooke.
Some of the Bruins didn't think Cooke's hit was deserving a suspension either.
“I saw the hit. I don’t know if it was anything dirty,” said Nathan Horton. “He hasn’t been a dirty player for a while now, and I don’t know if he’s trying to do that there. I think [McQuaid] is okay, so that’s what is important.”
The hit seemed to light a fire under Boston, soooo thanks, Cooke.
