Boston Red Sox slugger played in front of the Fenway Park faithful for the final time during Monday night’s 4-3 loss to the Cleveland Indians in Game 3 of the ALCS.
The Sox got swept, and Big Papi didn’t even get a chance to swing away in the bottom of the eighth inning, when the Sox were threatening to tie the game. The Indians clearly pitched around Ortiz — walking him — and a pinch-runner entered in his place. Had the Sox tied the game, he would’ve come to the plate to hit in the 10th.
Still, he remained classy as ever, and saluted the fans for the final time after the game.

Tough way to go out, but Papi gave us plenty of great moments that we’ll never forget.
