New day. New year. And Boston's hoping to start 2014 better than they ended 2013. Tonight they host the Nashville Predators, despite the foot+ snow that's already acculminating in Boston.
The Predators are sitting in 12th in the Western Conference. Womp womp. Good thing Team USA's GM wasn't in a decision making position…. wait… dammit…
Some good news, though, for Bruins fans is that Carl Soderberg and Dougie Hamilton were cleared to play and are expected back in the line-up tonight. With Dougie back in, most likely Millar is the odd man out, but he's been a solid replacement for the Bruins this season. If the Bruins want to send Miller back down to Providence he'll have to clear waivers — and the chances of clearing seems slim — so expect him to be a healthy scratch or mixed in and out to give other guys breaks.
Having Soderberg will also be a boost to the Bruins third line. Soderberg has looked better and better as this season has trucked forward. He was out with "concussion symptoms" but he and the team are saying he didn't actually have a concussion. Whatever it is, we're glad to have the Yeti back and we're sure he's feeling good about all that snow outside.
And starting tonight will be Niklas Svedberg! Unless some more random serendipitous events pop up between now and puck drop. We wouldn't want Rask to pull a Dante Hicks again.
Svedberg was Goalie of the Year for the 2012-2013 season and this year for Providence he's racked up 13-5-3 record.
Projected Lines
