Cox: Bruins were ‘most interested’ in Dion Phaneuf at trade deadline

According to professional newspaper journalist troll, Damien Cox, the Boston Bruins were in on a possible trade for Dion Phaneuf.

Destinations for Dion: Given that Boston was one of the teams most interested in Maple Leaf defenceman Dion Phaneuf at the trade deadline, and restated that interest after he wasn’t traded, it makes sense that with Chiarelli now in Edmonton, the defence-hungry Oilers could be suitors for the veteran blueliner this summer.

Phaneuf’s cap hit is $7 million through 2020-2021.

Meanwhile Boychuk will be making $6 million through 2021-2022.

To be fair, Phaneuf was one of the best Bruins in 2013.
