First, what a game! It was typical playoff hockey that had me on the edge of my seat the entire 65 minutes of play. Unlike other playoff hockey games where I can just sit back and enjoy the intense action, this one had me pulling out my already falling out hair and biting my toenails because I ran out of fingernails. It was nerve-wracking, but the final result made it all worth it.
About five minutes into OT, Mikael Samuelsson made a great play on Campbell in the ‘Hawks zone by getting his stick on the ice and blocking a weak pass. That sparked a 3-on-1 odd-man rush that led to the game winner.
This wasn’t the first odd-man rush that had Chicago goalie Khabibulin feeling as helpless as Goldberg in the first Mighty Ducks when they played (ironically enough) the ‘Hawks the first time.
