Not to take anything away from the Tigers tonight, as they had nine hits and pitched very, very well, but you have to give a lot, if not most, of the credit for their 4-2 victory to the Cleveland Indians themselves. And leading the charge was Jhonny Peralta.
Earning himself MVP honors for the Tigers tonight, Peralta made not one, not two, but three errors (and that’s not including the spelling error that exists in his name4lyfe). To add insult to injury, Peralta grounded into a game ending double play in the top of the 9th when he served as the go ahead run. Tough game for Peralta. But thank you.
The Indians made five errors total and only two of the Tigers’ four runs were earned.
With Minnesota’s awful meltdown in the 9th today, Detroit now leads the AL Central by 4.5 games (Joe Nathan gave up four runs with two outs in the 9th). An absolutely huge win for the Tigers. Let’s all eat ice cream and have a 45 second dance party before mentally preparing for tomorrow’s big game. Every game is big here on out.
Go TIGERS!
