Bob, Chip, and Dupree’s Week 3 NFL Picks Against the Spread

Last week was a little better, but we still weren’t picking games with the crisp ease we’ve had in recent years. I finished a respectable 9-7, much better than my 4-12 Week 1 mark, but still not what I’m expecting.  On the brightside, for the second week in a row, I correctly predicted the GOW, picking Chicago to cover and win in a close one with Pittsburgh.

Chip and Dupree finished 8-8, salvaging a .500 record with Indianapolis’ bizarre victory on Monday night.

Here are my Week 3 picks:

Everyone seems to think this is the week Detroit will win No. 1 of their last 20 tries.  I’m one of everyone.  Then again, I’ve said Detroit will win a game for about 15 weeks now.  They’ll at least cover this week, I promise.

I’m going to say there will be two games of the week, because I can.  Atlanta at New England is going to be a shootout.  In the end, I bet Atlanta prevails and sends a message to the rest of the league, BYOB — Bring your own Booyah!  Atlanta is good this season. Brady post surgery has the same face, but he’s not the same QB.

The second game of the week will be New Orleans at Buffalo.  This will be another Texas shootout, in Buffalo, and I think Buffalo is going to cover.  Fred Jackson makes his last start before Marshawn Lynch returns from his suspension, so you better believe he is going to be running his best and if his best is better than last week then he might just steal the job.  New Orleans averages about 100 points per game thus far, but Buffalo has the weapons to stick with them.  My final score prediction 31-27 New Orleans.
