Weekend Links – Bloguin’s Best, NBA Previews, & Philadelphia’s Finest

  • D4L would like to welcome Babcock’s Death Stare to the Bloguin family. Kyle has been absolutely killing it with the Red Wings coverage at his old site and we’re glad to see him make the upgrade. I can’t even describe how sweet that banner is.
  • Our other Detroit-loving Bloguin colleague, Big Al of The Wayne Fontes Experience, is sick of some of the so called “important” sports stories floating around the media this week, and I couldn’t agree more.
  • Blaze of Love has their well-researched NBA preview up, and it looks like the Phoenix Suns will win the NBA title this year over the Miami Heat. Ok, not really. Automotion is holding it down in the #14 spot, while the Oklahoma City Thunder girls are in last. Of course, last place in this competition is like being the poorest guy at a billionaire’s convention.
  • With Leather brings you the smartest man in Philadelphia. Or maybe not. Maybe that’s why Philly greased its poles before Game 5.
  • Sharapova’s Thigh has officially found the creepiest commercial on television. At first I didn’t think too much of it, but after watching it a few times I’m giving up pizza for a while. Ok, a week.
  • If you thought this goal given up by Cristobal Huet was bad, check out the goal scored by SMU freshman Ryan Rosenbaum against Tulsa. To the goalie’s credit, the bounce the ball takes is ridiculous. [via Yahoo!]
  • Global Sports Fraternity has the latest info behind the scenes with the BCS committee in video form.[via Gunxaxin]
