Wednesday Links – Trade Rumors, Uncle Rico, & Balls To the Face

It’s the middle of the work week, with a double dose of Detroit sports coming up tonight as the Red Wings face the Dallas Stars and the Pistons take on the Portland Trail Blazers. Here’s your daily links to hold you over until game time.

  • It seems like I’m starting to link them daily here, but Maize n Brew has posted yet another must-read piece. This one’s a lot more serious than yesterday’s. Win or lose on Saturday against Ohio State, itit always great to be a Michigan Wolverine.

Desmond Howard

  • I wrote up a condensed version of the various Tigers’ trade rumors last night at the Gordie Howe Hat Trick. I’d like to see the Tigers stand pat this offseason, unless the right offer comes along for Edwin Jackson.
  • Apparently LeBron James thinks he would be pretty good in the NFL. In fact, he used to be able to throw a pigskin a quarter mile back in ’82.

  • File this one under “Not good for the Pistons”: Chris Bosh, a name many Detroit fans have floated around as a possible addition to the Pistons’ roster next season, wouldn’t mind joining Dwyane Wade in Miami. A core of Wade, Bosh, and presidential favorite Michael Beasley would instantly make Miami one of the favorites in the East.
  • Gunaxin has a good take on why Thursday Night Football sucks. And yes, Matt Millen is involved.

Rob’s Highlight of the Day

For those that stayed up late enough to watch the end of the Lakers’ blowout of the Pistons (don’t let the box score fool you, it was a blowout), you probably saw Jason Maxiell’s early entry for Block of the Year. Anyone that didn’t? You’re welcome.

And since it’s a bit of a light day for those interweb links, I leave you with this. Enjoy.
