Weekend Links – Kryptonate’s Blunder, Gangster Marv Albert, & More Sheed Issues

Despite a disappointing weekend for Michigan sports (only one Red Wings win among all the action), we’ve still been able to find some quality reading across the interwebs.

  • Apparently Nate Robinson has a problem with directions. Whether or not KryptoNate’s internal compass was malfunctioning, Mike D’Antoni was none too happy with his diminuitive super-sub after this from Saturday’s Nets-Knicks matchup. [via Ball Don’t Lie & @Jose3030]
  • Be sure to check out Babcock’s Death Stare for Kyle’s latest recap on the Grand Rapids Griffins. Kyle breaks down the top prospects in the Wings’ organization and how they played during Friday’s 4-1 win over Texas.
  • It’s a bit late, but I just found a great recap of Brandon Jennings’ 55-point performance over at BrewHoop, SB Nation’s Milwaukee Bucks blog. Frank Madden raises some excellent points on what Jennings’ performance could mean to the Bucks, one of several exciting up-and-coming teams in the NBA. [via Basketball Prospectus]
  • A big thanks to Pip for e-mailing us this piece recounting his experience (or lack of) of Doug Flutie’s miracle Hail Mary. Remember, if there’s something you want us to post, send an e-mail to [email protected].
  • Apparently, Rasheed Wallace is taking too many 3’s for the Celtics’ liking. Not that he ever did that here in Detroit… I’d definitely consider Charlie Villanueva an upgrade over Sheed’s antics so far.
Rob’s Highlight of the Day
It didn’t technically count, but I have to go with Kevin Garnett’s 3-quarter court one-handed heave in the Celtics’ win over Golden State on Wednesday. [via NESW Sports]
Also, check out James Harden’s steal and behind-the-back pass on the fast break for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
