I had a busy Hump Day yesterday (with no humping, unfortunately) so today’s links post is a mishmash of yesterday and today. Kind of like cold pizza, but you don’t have to worry about whether or not to eat that piece that was left face down on the couch.
- I didn’t believe it at first, but Puck Daddy’s Greg Wyshynksi and the Chief are actually setting aside their differences for a common cause: voting the 2001/02 Red Wings the best sports team of the decade. Go vote now. Vote often. And while you’re at it, vote for Nick Lidstrom for athlete of the decade.
- Going along with the “Top ___ of the Decade” mantra, Shutdown Corner released a lot of its lists all in one day. Make sure you check out the draft busts (how is Joey Harrington missing?) and the flops (Matt Millen = idiot4lyfe).

Red Wings Hardware dives into the often controversial “coming to the defense of a teammate” situation in the NHL. I agree with their stance: if it’s not an illegal hit, let the guy whose manhood was challenged step up for himself.

Ansar Khan reports that Jakub Kindl has been recalled from Grand Rapids for tonight’s Wings game and that he’ll see some time on the power play in his NHL debut. Rob’s Retro Highlight of the Day
Last night seemed like a particularly pedestrian day in the sporting world, and since I’ve been without ESPN since Sunday (thanks Comcast…), I’m going retro with today’s highlight. Back in 2003, Jason Richardson needed to pull out something big to wrestle the NBA dunk contest away from defending champion Desmond Mason. J-Rich took the floor for his final dunk of the night and… well, you know how it ends.
