Thursday Links – Dollar Beer Night, the Tigers’ Closer Questions, & Jonas Jerebko the Ladies Man

    • Next Wednesday, the Washington Wizards vs. Sacramento Kings game will be aired on ESPN. Apparently, Sacramento’s front office wants a lot of people to be there. Badly. This has disaster written all over it. Kudos to ESPN for getting an exciting young Kings team some air-time though. [via Sactown Royalty]
    • Blaze of Love ranked the Miami Heat dancers #1 in their preseason rankings. Like myself, they have also been spot-on with their predictions for this young NBA season. They take a closer look at the girls here. Fun fact: Jonas Jerebko will pleasure all of the Heat dancers in one night when the Pistons visit Miami on April 9. [via The Big Lead]
    • After Brandon Lyon signed a contract with the Houston Astros yesterday, Ian at Bless You Boys is wondering who the Tigers’ closer will be next year. Zumaya may start the year at the back end of the Tigers’ bullpen, but I don’t see him staying healthy this year (or ever).
    • The Wall Street Journal wonders if this year’s Fiesta Bowl will be hurting for TV ratings.I’m excited, and I think there are a lot of football fans that have heard all the hype about both of these teams but haven’t been able to watch them yet. Prediction: more people will watch this game than Iowa-Georgia Tech. Book it. [via The Big Lead]
    • Puck Daddy posted their list of 5 best/worst draft picks in the decade. Unfortunately, Henrik Zetterberg was drafted in 1999 and wasn’t eligible for the list (I had to re-read the intro paragraph out of shock before I realized it). It’s nice to see a couple Wings represented in the “best” selections, and I can’t argue with #1.
  • NBA Fanhouse wonders if Vinny Del Negro will be patrolling the Chicago Bulls’ sidelines for much longer. I’ve watched a couple of Bulls games recently, both in which they were blown out (by good Western Conference teams on the road, to be fair). However, it already seems like this team has tuned Del Negro out.
  • NESW Sports takes a look at some of the most-hated Duke basketball icons of all-time. Thankfully, former Piston Grant Hill isn’t on the list (honestly, how could you hate the guy?).

Rob’s Highlight of the Day
Devin Harris channels his inner LeBron James to deny C.J. Watson an easy 2 points on the fast break. Watson and the Warriors got the last laugh though, winning 105-89. The Nets dropped to 2-20 with the loss.
