The Penguins have been struggling this season, without a doubt. They are looking up the standings at both teams from New York, and the one from New Jersey, as well as Boston if they had designs on securing a in the postseason via a wild card spot. Making this completely unacceptable, however, is the presence of Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Marc Andre Fleury, Phil Kessel and a wealth of other talent. You can’t last very long in this league if you squander good talent, like the Penguins are. So now Mike Johnston is looking for work.
SCOREBOARD
New Jersey 3, Detroit 2 (OT) – The Devils are in playoff position Did you see that coming? Liar.
Los Angeles 3, Pittsburgh 2 (SO) – The Pens front office is mostly pissed that Pittsburgh was involved in this shootout, because shootouts are stupid.
Chicago 2, Winnipeg 0 – Nice of the Hawks not to embarrass the Jets. Classy, even.
Dallas 3, Philadelphia 1 – The Pens only have 3 points more than the Flyers this season, if that tells you how bad it’s been.
Arizona 2, Minnesota 1 (OT) – The Coyotes are better than you want to believe.
Edmonton 7, New York Rangers 5 – Holy wow. A whole team of PAvel Bures, apparently.
Carolina 5, Anaheim 1 – Anaheim has fallen off a ledge.
All right, that’s it for BMR. We’re going to be off through the Christmas break. I hope you all have a happy and safe holiday!
