While I’m betting your bracket is pretty screwed after today’s rash of upsets, including Murray St.’s last-second win over Vanderbilt, Old Dominion’s scrapfest victory over Notre Dame, and Washington’s comeback W over Marquette, no game did more damage to bracket pools across the country than Ohio University’s dominating win over the 3-seeded Georgetown Hoyas. I know it’s a bit hard to see what picks I butchered, but the take-home point is that my national champion is out of commission after the first day of the tournament. Needless to say, I won’t be winning the Thunder Treats & Favre Dollar Footlong Bracket Challenge this year.
For the record, that isn’t the first bracket I filled out. I’m one of those assholes that makes different picks for each bracket, just in case one of them is right enough for me to win the $1,000,000 that Yahoo! and ESPN offer up every year. And the real reason I’m not tearing my hair out? This beauty:
The entire Sweet Sixteen intact. Kansas and Kentucky in the final. I smell a winner. Go Cornell.
