Apologies for my absence yesterday (early April Fools joke I guess). I got a bit behind in the real world so the daily links got pushed to the back burner. Anyway, check out what we’ve got today. Unless you’re outside. Stay out there, it’s nice out.
- ESPN columnist (and MSU graduate) Jemele Hill goes out on a bit of a limb and suggests that Tom Izzo is the best coach in our great state’s history. She illustrates the grand company that Izzo is in, but does a pretty good job backing up her claim. I still think he’s got a bit of work to do first, but it’s definitely possible when all is said and done.
- Apparently someone thought it would be funny to jack part of the block ‘M’ in Michigan Stadium in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. Despite Isaac’s attempts at a “Michigan SUX, duurrr” joke, the best line of the day came from the University Police, who were “unsure how someone was able to access the field.” Umm… maybe try having someone watch the damn stadium overnight?

- This one is great. Twins outfielder Denard Span hit an unlucky fan with a foul ball yesterday. The kicker? That fan was his own mother. Span basically pulled himself out of the game afterward, but luckily his mom is fine. Seriously, she gave birth; don’t act like a little baseball is going to hurt Momma Span. - While getting popped with a baseball is going to hurt a bit, taking a volleyball to the face is just plain hysterical. Unfortunately, this kid had to find that out the hard way. It’s only a game, Focker! [via Deadspin]
- The always-entertaining Maize ‘n’ Brew is taking a look at the potential outlook for a few Michigan players eligible for this year’s NFL draft. Somehow I missed the Donovan Warren post from a few days ago, but luckily I caught Brandon Graham’s on Tuesday.
- A big thanks to our readers for submitting this video of a ridiculous John Wall windshield wiper get-up. I’d be pretty embarrassed if I were those kids.
- Pistons’ beat writer Keith Langlois took a close look at Jonas Jerebko’s chances of making the NBA All-Rookie team this year. I’m on John Kuester’s side when I say that Jerebko should be included. Dan Feldman of Piston Powered thinks that Jerebko would comfortably fit on the second team.
Rob’s Highlight of the Day
I don’t care that Flip Murray’s awesome half-court heave didn’t count, it’s still awesome. Too bad he’ll probably be playing for a different team again by the time you read this.
