The Tigers may have lost yesterday, but a lazy professor made my entire week already. I’m off to make some money with those kids. [pic via Guyism]
- Conan O’Brien announced his new show yesterday, but surprised fans by deciding to go to TBS instead of FOX like most thought he would. I’m happy to see Conan back on TV, but there will definitely be some upset folks, specifically those who don’t get TBS.
- What else made yesterday such a great day? The Chief is back at the helm (pun intended) at A2Y, and spending all that time on a boat must have pissed him off. He came out with some serious fire yesterday, and is giving no quarter this post-season. If nothing else, make sure to drop in and thank the man for serving our country.
- The latest Bloguin roundtable is a good one: NBA vs. NCAA. Basketball is probably the only sport where the style of the game differs so much from college to the pros, and is why most people only like one of the two. I’d have to side with the NBA guys on this one though.
- Orlando Magic coach Stan Van Gundy thinks LeBron James is the MVP front-runner from now until eternity. Ok, that’s not exactly what SVG said, but it’s pretty close. He’s right about the defense though; Dwight Howard is putting up some gaudy ass numbers and won’t even sniff the award this year.
- As much as it still hurts, I have to link Curtis Granderson’s first post of the year at Big League Stew. Grandy is soliciting the help of Stew readers for what he should do to acknowledge fans during the Roll Call at Yankee Stadium.
- You’ve already seen a 13-year old commit to USC, now watch out for 5-year old baseball phenom Ariel Antigua. As skeptical as I was about the football kid, the fact that this little guy is hitting some serious heat is downright impressive.
Today’s random video and highlight after the jump…
RANDOM AWESOME VIDEO OF THE DAY
Two things stick out to me in this video. The first is that there are actually people at a Marlins game, and the second is the fans singing “Na Na Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye” as the fighting drunktards are kicked out. [via Busted Coverage]
ROB’S HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY
Whitey Josh McRoberts skies above the Cavaliers defense for a reverse alley-oop dunk.
