It might not be summer for you yet (this is where we laugh at my friends still taking exams at MSU), but I am 100% done with all things academic until late August, so it’s time to work 40 hours a week party.
- At Ball Don’t Lie, Kelly Dwyer has questions about the Atlanta Hawks despite their blowout Game 7 win against Milwaukee yesterday. As much as I don’t want to admit it, Orlando is the worst possible matchup for the Hawks, as evident by their 3-1 record against Atlanta this season. Hopefully Joe Johnson & Co. can move past Superman in the second round.
- The only other NBA action yesterday was Game 1 of the Lakers-Jazz second round series. The Lakers won a close game, 104-99. Sebastian Pruiti of NBA Playbook has a beef with Carlos Boozer’s play in the final minutes. With screenshots and analysis like that, who am I to argue? [via @jeskeets]
- I don’t mean to turn this into D4L’s NBA round-up, but the League was pretty busy yesterday. LeBron James won his second straight MVP award with 116 of the 123 possible first place votes. I don’t have a problem that it wasn’t unanimous, but the two people that voted LBJ third are morons.
- It’s already been established that the NCAA has some pretty stupid recruiting rules, but this one wins the belt. How in the world does it make sense to let coaches send private messages to recruits instead of making them public? It’s beyond me.
- Thunder Treats scored an interview with UFC fighter Gray Maynard. Maynard spent some time at Michigan State as an All-American wrestler and is an up-and-coming fighter in the UFC circuit who will probably get his shot at a title belt in the near future.
- If you thought the Kentucky Derby was the only place to see drunken debauchery this weekend, you’re wrong. Dirty Tackle has the European side of things with Bayern Munich’s celebration of their German league championship.
- I gotta admit, I’m simply blown away by Wezen Ball’s Tater Tot Tracker. The April recap is up, and I’m not surprised to see the Tigers on the list, led by Miguel Cabrera (who else?)

ROB’S HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY
According to A Stern Warning, this is Mo Williams’ first career dunk. A bit late, but not a bad way to join the party.
