No witty jokes to start things off today, but congratulations to Guyism, a D4L favorite and site you should already be reading, for their newly designed site. It looks awesome, so go check it out (after you read the links, of course).
- If Ndamukong Suh didn’t endear himself to Detroiters enough with thistweet last night, taking the advice hegot from Jay-Z to heart will definitely finish the job.The fact that Michael Strahan is one of the 8 Twitter acounts he’s following probably won’t hurt.
- The Hoop Doctors think that Michael Jordan will change the nickname of the Charlotte Bobcats now that he’s the majority owner. Let’s be honest here: he can’t do too much worse.
- Johnny Damon has had trouble sleeping lately, and he’s finally figured out that maybe it’s because of all the Red Bull he’s been drinking. Hopefully he’s keeping it under 160 cans a day or so; otherwise, he’d be in trouble.
- ESPN’s Ian O’Connor thinks Boston Celtics assistant coach Tom Thibodeau is a leading candidate for the vacant New Jersey Nets job. Pistons fans will remember Thibodeau as one of the top candidates in last year’s coaching search.I think the Nets will probably go for the flashy hire in this situation. [via @WojYahooNBA]
- Somehow Aaron Torres has translated his unnatural love for The Hills into an NBA playoffs post. It’s an interesting idea that he originally had earlier this year with Jersey Shore and the NCAA season. [via @RealFakeSports]
- I’ve stayed away from the recent tasering episode in Philadelphia thus far, but Lynn Henning’s take on the matter is pretty laughable. Here’s the basic point:if the security guard isn’t supposed to use it,don’t give him a damn taser to begin with. The kid got what he deserved.

- At Big League Stew, author Jason Turnbow gets a chance to advertise his new book by giving us 10 obscure unwritten rules of baseball. I’m starting to save my pennies already.
- I linked this a while ago (February 1st, to be exact), but MLB 2K10 was giving away $1 million to the first person to throw a perfect game. It took over 2 months, but someone is finally cashing in.
- You really shouldn’t be interested in these because we’re all die-hard Detroit sports fans here (right….right?) but LeBron James is wearing a special MVP edition of his Nike LeBron VII’s. The only relevance here is that they will probably be released to the public (like last year’s were) at a later date. You’re welcome, sneakerheads (even though you probably already knew this).
Today’s random video and highlight after the jump…
RANDOM AWESOME VIDEO OF THE DAY
This is the type of shit you see in video games, I really hope this isn’t fake. [via @jeff_green22]
ROB’S HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY
Watching the DC United vs. Kansas City soccer game last night was really the only somewhat productive thing I did. United’s rookie goalkeeper, 19-year-old Bill Hamid, made a huge save on KC’s Jack Jewsbury to keep the Wizards off the board. DC won for the first time this season, 2-1.
