Washington Nationals pitcher Jesus Christ Stephen Strasburg debuted tonight amid a circus-like atmosphere at Nationals Park. The most hyped athlete since LeBron James came out of high school, Strasburg didn’t disappoint. In fact, his final line was downright stellar: 7 IP, 4 hits, 2 runs, 14 strikeouts, zero walks, and one well-deserved win. However, it wasn’t Strasburg’s 99 mph fastball or knee-buckling curveball that kept the Pirates hitters off balance all night; it was his terrifying game face.
I can’t blame Pittsburgh for being a bit freaked out. Chucky gave me nightmares for weeks when I was a kid.
