It’s The Monster Boesch: Tigers 8, Nationals 3

Brennan Boesch hit a three-run, 422-ft bombski to seal the deal in Detroit’s 8-3 win over the Nationals on Wednesday night. In all, he had three hits and four RBI’s.  After giving up solo-homers in the 1st and 2nd, Justin Verlander settled down to give up just one more run en route to eight strong and fanning a season-high 11. Enrique Gonzalez made his debut and I’m sure if he pitches a lot more I’ll make plenty of Enrique Iglesias references.

The Tigers have now won five in a row and are 34-6 in their last 40 interleague games at home. Both of those stats are good. [Box Score]
