Busy day today (not really), check out the links. Colt McCoy thinks they are pretty damn funny so you better like them too.

- Carolina Panthers WR Steve Smith broke his arm playing flag football yesterday. Yes, this is the big sports news story of the day. Dead period, remember?
- I wanted to actually write a full post about this yesterday, but I
fell asleepwas busy. Jose Valverde got into it with Arizona catcher Miguel Montero, who wasn’t happy with Papa Grande’s samba moves on the mound. Valverde essentially responded with a “step your game up, son” comment. Advantage: potato. [via Bless You Boys] - I’m not huge on the NHL Draft (I’m more of an NBA Draft fan, naturally) but Babcock’s Death Stare has more than enough info on who the Red Wings could be looking at taking when the draft rolls around this weekend.
- Speaking of the NBA Draft, MLive’s Chris Iott wonders if the Pistons might take Wake Forest’s Al-Farouq Aminu with the 7th pick. Thankfully, Detroit Bad Boys is being a bit more sensible.
- Last week’s Lions Congregation was one loaded question: how will the Lions do this season? Check out the answers of your favorite Lions bloggers at Roar of the Lions.
- Yesterday was officially the first day of summer and the guys at Busted Coverage were in a celebratory mood. Summer kicks ass.

At SBN Detroit, Ryan thinks that the NHL is sticking it to Detroit by sending them to Chicago on opening night, when the Blackhawks will be raising their Stanley Cup banner. Honestly, I’m ok with it. Is there anything that will motivate the Wings more than seeing that ceremony? I don’t think so.
Today’s random video and highlight after the jump…
RANDOM AWESOME VIDEO OF THE DAY
In order to prevent people from running onto the field, the Phillies posted signs near the front row. You’d be surprised how effective they are. [via Total Pro Sports]
ROB’S HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY
Check out the accuracy on this shot by Dutch star Rafael van der Vaart. The FIFA guy? Definitely impressed.
