The Detriot Lions are about to welcome back a familiar face in their locker room. The team has announced on it’s website earlier this afternoon the return of cornerback Dre Bly. The Lions and Bly have agreed to a two year deal, with terms that have yet to be specified.
After spending four years of his career in Detroit, Dre suited up for two years in Denver, and most recently played for the 49ers last season. In his only season in San Francisco, Bly recorded three interceptions, but started only six games.
Statistically, Bly had his most productive years while he was in Detroit. As a lifetime Lions fan, it’s still hard for me to forget when he was looking for a way out of Detroit, due to his distaste for his contract. Regardless, he seems excited for his second opportunity to play in Detroit, and until I see how he performs on the field, I’ll withhold any negative judgement or bias of him.
