The Tigers put Brandon Inge on the 15-day disabled list today with a broken left hand. In his place, the team called up relief pitcher Casey Fien.
Fien, as you remember, had some trouble getting to the ballpark during his last call-up. Despite his mishap, I won’t hold it against him. After all, he was in Minnesota where it snows 364 days a year. Hell, for all we know he got attacked by a polar bear or something.
Anyway, Fien will probably only be in Detroit for a few games to help out a bullpen that’s thrown a lot of innings lately. After that, rumor has it that Scott Sizemore will get the call to fill in for Inge.
