Gerald Laird is (G) Money: Tigers 4, Rangers 1

Gerald Laird sees your 7-game losing streak and is not amused.

Gerald Laird G-Money

G-Money hit a two-run homer in the 2nd inning and threw out some fool trying to run on him in the 3rd. The Tigers added two more runs in the bottom of the 7th. Max Scherzer threw a career-high 123 pitches in 7 innings of work. He gave up 4 hits and 3 walks, and struck out 5 Rangers hitters.

TRIPLE CROWN WATCH

Miguel Cabrera was 1-for-3 with an RBI tonight. He still sits at 3rd in the AL in average (AL leader Josh Hamilton was 0-for-4), 2nd in home runs (behind Toronto’s Jose Bautista) and first in RBI.

LOOKS AT THE ROOKS

Austin Jackson looks like he’s back in his early season form. Jackson had 3 hits and scored on a sacrifice fly by Miguel Cabrera.

Brennan Boesch continued to struggle, going 0-for-3 on the night.

Danny Worth was put into the game in the 8th inning as a defensive replacement.

The recently-recalled Scott Sizemore kept our awesome athletic trainers company in the dugout.

Tomorrow’s game is at 1:05, so skip work.
