- Word is that Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets won’t last together too much longer. I’m not too surprised by this news, but hopefully it won’t venture into the awkward “ex who still has feelings for you” phase. Joe D? Pick up the damn phone.
- A few quick NFL notes for your fantasy teams: the 49ers signed RB Brian Westbrook to replace the retired (seriously, WTF) Glenn Coffee, while Steve Smith (the Carolina Panthers version) and Percy Harvin both returned to practice yesterday.
- Eva Longoria, wife of Spurs guard Tony Parker (I just wanted to be the first person EVER to say that), said that Tony wants to play in New York. Hmm, sounds kinda like something we heard from a certain pop-star/pinup a little while back.
- Just one day after I mentioned that George Malik would be going to training camp, he decides to switch blog allegiances. Malik will be moving to the Kukla’s Korner empire and writing at A2Y for the time being until his new digs are set up.
- I just got around to watching the first episode of Hard Knocks today (I don’t have HBO, give me a break) and, like the rest of the country, I thought Rex Ryan was hysterical. Tony Dungy? Not so much. He wouldn’t even hire him if he had the chance.
- Something about the Milwaukee Bucks has piqued my interest for the upcoming season (and no, it’s not their uber-athletic mascot). Brandon Jennings feels like he’s ready to take his game to the next level, which would definitely be worth watching all year long. [via The Baseline]
- UM Hoops was able to check out one of Michigan’s off-season basketball practices. Joe gives a great breakdown, including some short snips on individual players.
- Forget pickpocketers, beware of these people. Two French chicks were able to rob a guy of 300
dollarseuros (whatever) by flashing him. Sadly, there is no video evidence of this crime scene.
