Jim Leyland told media today that it’s unlikely Slater will play the rest of this season. As you know, Magglio’s 2011 contract will not vest and he will become a free agent. Set to make $18 million next year had his contract vested, it’s likely he’ll request more than the Tigers are willing to offer.
