New school, same links. I’ll be rocking the authentic Tracy McGrady jersey all day long.
- Yahoo Sports columnist Dan Wetzel absolutely laid into boxer/MMA fighter James Toney yesterday after Toney’s poor showing in Saturday’s fight against Randy Couture. The sad part? Toney deserves it.
- The Cincinnati Bengals cut WR Antonio Bryant yesterday after signing him to a $28 million contract this offseason. This isn’t a shocking move given the play of rookie Jordan Shipley, but Bryant can’t be happy he’s losing out on $20+ million.
- This is long overdue: Scottie Pippen will (finally) be commemorated with a statue outside of the United Center in Chicago. Hopefully his pose involves this dunk in some way.
- Kyle of Babcock’s Death Stare will be taking the year off from his site due to an internship with the Grand Rapids Griffins. As much as he’ll be missed in the Red Wings community, it’s a great opportunity for him in many ways. Good luck Kyle.
- I haven’t played Red Dead Redemption yet, but I’ve heard its one of the best games to be released in a long time. Sharapova’s Thigh heard a rumor about a possible game-to-movie scenario (a la Tomb Raider and Hitman) and I’m interested.
- Boston sportswriter Dan Shaugnessy wrote a stupid column last week about Johnny Damon’s decision to stay in Detroit. Naturally, Rogo of DesigNate Robertson bashed the hell out of Shaugnessy as only Rogo can.
- Shannon James? Why not? [via Busted Coverage]
- Guyism came up with a list of 9 people you find in Walmart after midnight. One you could add to the “noon on a Sunday version” is the crazy Spanish guy that tries to talk to you about Jesus. Not that I’ve had that happen to me at all.
