The weekend is almost here. Hopefully you have a better day than this guy.
- The Big Ten decided to place Michigan and Ohio State into separate divisions when Nebraska joins the conference in 2011, but they will still play each other in their final regular season game. Kudos to Jim Delaney for getting this one right.
- The Tigers called up long-time minor league Max St. Pierre this week. At Bless You Boys, Kurt wrote a spine-tingling piece about a guy finally getting a chance to live out his dream in the big leagues. Congrats on getting to the show, Max. Now beat the damn Twins.
- Human-cheetah hybrid Usain Bolt is seriously considering playing professional soccer. He’s hopeful that Manchester United will see his skillz at an upcoming charity event and sign him to a contract. I like it, especially considering the relatively short prime Olympic sprinters enjoy.
- Detroit Bad Boys is doing a roundtable-esque player preview for each member of the Pistons over the next month, with each DBB writer getting his chance to talk about said player. I love the idea and I’m excited to read them all. First up is the newest Piston, Terrico White.
- Washington Post columnist Mike Wise is being reprimanded by his colleagues for tweeting some false information to prove that journalists don’t put enough effort into checking their sources today. Wise was suspended by the Post for one month. I, for one, am congratulating him for having the balls to do this.
- The list kings at Gunaxin came up with a set of 10 teams that should be featured on the HBO show Hard Knocks. A solid list overall, but some of the older teams could get a bit bland (I’m looking at you, Pittsburgh).
- Speaking of Hard Knocks, Deadspin made sure to count up all the profane words Rex Ryan spewed in the last episode.
- The pictures and .gif’s alone are worth reading this article from Maize ‘n’ Brew: a great adaptation on “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas,” fitted for college football obviously.
Today’s videos after the jump…
WTF NBC
Conan O’Brien reveals the name of his new show on TBS. Meanwhile, I’m still trying to figure out why Jimmy Fallon is on national TV every night.
ROB’S HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY
I know Roger Federer has done this a thousand times, but it’s still impressive.
