Love him or hate him, there’s one thing that we all can agree on tonight: Mark Dantonio has some serious balls. Faced with a long field goal attempt while down 3 in OT, Coach D called for a fake field goal, prompting the following response from the entire stadium.
Punter Aaron Bates threw a 29-yard TD pass to a wide open Charlie Gantt, giving the Sparties a 3-point win. However, replays (and multiple screencaps on Twitter) show that they might not have gotten the play off in time.
By the looks of it, MSU should have been hit with a delay of game penalty. Fortunately for the Spartan faithful (and fans of exciting finishes everywhere) the call wasn’t made and State walks away with a big win.
