It didn’t take long after Ohio State’s 62-60 loss to Kentucky last night for Jared Sullinger to announce that he plans on staying in school despite being projected as a consensus lottery pick in the 2011 NBA draft.
Not only is this bad news for the rest of the Big Ten, it’s also not good for the legions of Pistons fans that wanted to see Sullinger playing next to Greg Monroe in Detroit next season.
As much as I’d love to see Sullinger playing in the Palace next season, I can’t fault the guy for wanting to finish his degree avoiding life in the real world. I’m sure Sullinger would rather spend his Saturdays watching an undermanned football team than at Home Depot.
