Despite the Red Wings’ best effort, they were unable to knock the Chicago Bandwagoners Blackhawks out of the playoffs. The Wings beat the Blackhawks 4-3 today, but the Hawks snuck into the 8th seed after Dallas lost to Minnesota earlier this evening.
With the win, the Wings will face the Phoenix Coyotes — yes, again — in the first round. However, this year the Wings have the home ice advantage and will hopefully move on in fewer than seven games this year. The schedule for the entire first round is below (sans TV listings, unfortunately).
