Doug Fister is not a strikeout pitcher, apparently. Luckily for us, nobody told Doug Fister about this. Fister struck out 13 Indians today in a 4-2 win, prompting me to see just how many times I can use the word “fist” in a blog post without fisting myself into a sticky situation.
The Tigers got 3 runs from a Victor Martinez home run, but were only able to fist together 4 other hits against the Indians pitching staff. Ubaldo Jimenez had 8 strikeouts despite being fisted by umpire Jim Wolf. The win was Fister’s 4th since coming to Detroit and 7th overall.
