Eight days ago, the Red Wings were on their way to DC for a showdown with the then-also-undefeated Washington Capitals. An asskicking of the bad variety ensued, and the Wings haven’t looked right since. Last night’s 1-0 loss to the Minnesota Wild closed out one of the worst weeks in recent memory.
Truth be told, I have been too busy to accurately comment on what the Wings are (or are not) doing differently — which also explains why D4L has been mostly dormant for the past couple weeks — but I do know this: it’s still only October. If there’s one team that fans shouldn’t fret too much about early in the season, it’s the Red Wings. I’m predicting a decisive win in Tuesday’s rubber match against the Wild to get things back on track.
