There has been much talk about whether the lions should sign Reggie Bush as Jahvid Best's replacement and a complimentary back to Mikel LeShoure. While he may fit a need, Bush is 28 in normal people years (47 in running back years), and conventionally wisdom suggests go young and cheap in the backfield. But Bush's explosiveness and play making ability is something the Lions' offense clearly lacked season, and this saturated market could make Bush cheaper than anticipated.
According to sources, Detroit and Arizona are the only teams in play for Reggie Bush.
And according to one Cardinals beat writer, Arizona is out.
While nothing has been confirmed, the Lions look to be in the best position to sign Bush when free agency officially opens at 4:00pm. If the Lions don't grossly overpay, Bush could be the missing piece to the Lions' dynamic offense.
Then again, we are talking about the Lions.
