The first 20,000 fans at Friday night’s Mariners-Tigers game received fedoras, because that was the promotion. One fan was so disgusted with himself that he dropped Victor Martinez’s home run*, he took his fedora and threw it on the ground!
As Mario suggested, it must have been the fedora’s fault.
