What a bizarre scene at Comerica Park on Thursday when the the game had to be delayed for a moment in the 7th inning so that Brad Ausmus could pull center fielder Austin Jackson because he had just been dealt as part of the David Price trade.

Austin Jackson came to Detroit with Max Scherzer and Phil Coke in the Curtis Granderson trade in 2009. He made his debut in the bigs that next season, 2010, hitting .293/.345/.745 and finishing second in the AL Rookie of the Year voting. Jackson’s best season was 2012 when he hit .300/.377/.856 with 16 home runs while also playing a strong center.
Jackson had a rough May and June, but hit .343/.386/.891 in July. Now he rejoins his former hitting coach Lloyd McClendon in Seattle.
