Thursday marked Big Ten basketball media day, and for the first time in a very long time it wasn’t held in Chicago. Instead, the brand was expanded with the event taking place in Washington D.C., just a stones throw away from the home of the University of Maryland in College Park, Md.
One of the two new names to grace the stage at this event compared to last season was now permanent head coach Greg Gard. He touched on his new title, the returning talent and expectations within the program as well as some of the social stances taken by players this off-season.
