Brandon James is next man up

Will he be the new returner?

If the Colts thought enough to keep him around on the practice squad until now, that meant there was some interest. I doubt he plays much WR, but you never know. As a friend pointed out today, the way bodies keep dropping, he might just end up being a regular. The Colts will undoubtedly start Blair White in the slot against the Bengals with Reggie Wayne and Pierre Garcon out wide. If any of those guys gets dinged, James gets a chance to show something.

And while the Colts won’t confirm using him as a kickoff returner, I expect he will get that job. Maybe White sticks on punt returns, because he’s handled it well with a 13.3-yard average, but then again maybe not because White is now in the three-WR set.
