Haven’t posted much this week, and I’ve slowed down a little. There are two issues: one, with closed practices and Coach limiting information and access, there’s simply less to say about the Ducks from day to day. The beat writers are limited to features and the bloggers are limited to speculation. Fully intend to pick up the pace as we move into November and the critical part of the Oregon season. I want to personally thank all the regular readers at this space for their contributions and kind attention; it has been an incredible experience to share Duck football with the most knowledgeable and passionate fanbase in college football.
The second issue is that I’ve been chasing girls. I need to catch one so I can focus my energy and get back to work. In the words of the immortal Casey Stengel, it isn’t sex that wears out athletes, it’s chasing after women that’s exhausting. Met one recently that seems exactly right. She’s passionate and intelligent. She gets me, and understands that having creative energy and dreams makes a person more interesting and compelling, not less. It’s a refreshing change from pouting, tantrums and drama, which I just can’t abide.
Hope that isn’t too personal. Over time, all of you have become friends, and I wanted to be straight with you. Go Ducks, and this afternoon we should have a pregame feature and some game notes, a long post on football, which is what we do here 99% of the time.
