Ducks in the NFL: Kaddu bashes, Clemens flames, Rosario snares

Josh Kaddu racked up four tackles in Miami’s 24-17 loss to Houston. Former Ducks Dion Jordan and Michael Clay did not accumulate a stat. Jordan is still recovering from shoulder surgery and has not practiced since taking 7 snaps in the Dolphins preseason opener. He’s currently behind veteran Oliver Vernon on the Fins depth chart. The team is being cautious with the shoulder, and he may figure to be strictly a third down pass rusher when the season begins in September.

Making his mark: Josh Kaddu (57) puts the hurt on Jacquizz Rodgers in a game against the Falcons last season. Since being activated off the practice squad last October Kaddu has steadily proven himself, earning a place in the linebacker rotation and on special teams.

Former Duck safety/linebacker Eddie Pleasant had two tackles for the Texans in the win.

Max Unger and the Seattle Seahawks clubbed Peyton Manning and Denver 40-10 at CenturyLink field in the late game last night. The Hawks offensive line plowed the Bronco defense for 129 yards on the ground and gave up just one sack, for -1 yard, when Russell Wilson scrambled out of the pocket.

Mark Asper and the Jacksonville Jaguars got bombed and strafed by the Jets last night, losing 37-13. The offensive line performed decently in the loss, churning out 3.4 yards per rush and surrendering a single sack for -3 yards. Jags starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert had to leave the game with an injured thumb.

Dante Rosario snared a 23-yard pass from Alex Tanney in the Cowboys 12-7 loss to Arizona. The Cowboys shot themselves in the foot in this game, with 6 turnovers, 3 interceptions and 3 fumbles. They’re now 0-2 in the preseason.

Tonight at 4 p.m. Spencer Paysinger and the New York Giants host Indianapolis. John Boyett suits up for the Colts.

Kellen Clemens had a miserable night in the Rams 19-7 home loss to Green Bay. Clemens sputtered to 2-11 passing for just 27 yards. He was intercepted twice and sacked twice in probably the worst night of football in his career. #2 quarterback Austin Davis was 7-15 for 114 yards and a touchdown, so Clemens may be vulnerable over the next couple of weeks as quarterbacks hit the waiver wire.
