North Dakota State defensive back Marcus Williams provides a “Day in the Life” tour of football fall camp at an FCS school, and the differences and similarities are both illuminating.
Playing in the Missouri Valley Conference, the Bisons won both the 2011 and 2012 Football Championship Series National Championships. There are ice baths and a training table at the FCS level, but Williams has to drive from the locker room to the practice field in his Hyundai, and the locker rooms are considerably less opulent.
During the video Williams says, “I really hate the rain. North Dakota is the only place it can be 65 degrees in the summer.” Not the only place.
North Dakota State plays Kansas State in their opener.
