As part of my duties as a columnist for Duck Sports Authoriy, I’ll be in the press box today, which is a new experience for me. Looking forward to the view, and watching a game with a roof over my head. I’ll also be able to attend the postgame interviews, although I intend to keep a low profile and chiefly observe. I’m a guest rather than a full-time member of the media., though we do what we can.
In case you missed it, today’s game with Cal is a 7:30 kickoff on the PAC-12 network. Ted Robinson is assigned to the play by play and Glenn Parker is the color analyst.
The big story initially in the game will be the weather, extreme for Oregon in late September. The Ducks will handle it fine. They have every advantage it terms of high tech uniforms, extra socks and a space age locker room. Mark Helfrich and his staff have prepared them mentally for the conditions, and they have the supreme advantage of an experienced offensive line and a strong running game. The severe weather, if it comes to pass, is advantage Oregon. Many of these guys have lived, worked and studied in Eugene for four to five years, and they’re fully acclimated. Plus, they love playing football. (Joel Bechtolt, Bleacher Report photo).
